Just a few hours ago the last episode of Gomorrah, the much criticized series that for many years has kept everyone in suspense, glued in front of the screen. It deals with very difficult issues on the world of the underworld in Southern Italy, investigates the universe of camorra and all that goes with it. After five successful seasons, it finally ended just a few hours ago.
The series has been produced by Sky since 2014 and is loosely based on the novel of the same name by Roberto Saviano. The book is an investigation, a sort of fictionalized reportage, on criminal environments. It was published for the first time in 2007 by Mondadori, when the author was still a rookie, discovered thanks to some of his online articles. The success was incredible.
A film, which, however, did not have the same success that the series did. In recent years we have learned to know his characters, in particular Genny and Ciro. Have you already seen the ending?

Definitely the fine of Gomorrah has shocked more than one viewer. Few imagined such an implication and on the web many fans have already risen and there are already thousands of debates. In fact, during the last episode we witnessed the death of the two protagonists, murdered by gunshots on the beach. The killer was never caught: but who was it?
It seems really absurd that two such fundamental characters could be left the scene thus, without the glorious death we could have imagined. It was already assumed, in fact, that they would probably die, but not in this way.

The meaning of the show is very clear and the writers wanted to explain it with this unexpected ending. The world of the Camorra is ruthless and unpredictable, and as far as you can rise and climb the heights of power, it takes a second to reverse the situation. The murderer of Genny and Ciro will remain anonymous because that’s how the system works. It doesn’t matter who killed them, it just matters that they are dead and that means that they lost their battle personal, despite all the efforts and sacrifices made throughout history.
