France, 5 women arrested. Foiled terrorist attack at Easter

French security forces arrested five women in Beziers last night, one of whom was suspected of planning a possible terrorist attack on a religious site in Montpellier on Easter Sunday. Le Figaro writes it.

At the center of the investigation a young adult, identified only 48 hours earlier by the security services. Hitherto unknown to counter-terrorism, the woman wanted to take action against a religious site in Montpellier, police sources in Le Figaro said.

The young woman “boasted of consulting Daesh videos”, the sources specified, referring to the Islamic State. Her mother and three sisters, one of them a minor, were arrested with her.

During the search of their home, in a poor neighborhood of Beziers, chemicals and a very sharp sword were found.

An investigation into the matter was opened for “terrorist criminal association”. The family was well known in social services and juvenile justice.
