A 41 year old man was chased, run over and beaten to death by a group of teenagers after that the 41-year-old’s girlfriend revealed to them that he was beating her. Fred Valdamar Ortiz, this is the victim’s name, was killed last Monday after being caught and beaten behind a shop in Magna, Utah, USA. According to what was reconstructed by the investigators, a group of very young people made up of boys and girls between 13 and 19 years old chased him. According to police, the group had initially visited the man’s girlfriend’s home to buy a puppy as the woman is a dog breeder.
While there, the boys talked to the 41-year-old’s girlfriend, who is pregnant, and they noticed that one had a black eye. When asked what had happened, the woman allegedly confessed that it was the partner who had hit her a few days earlier. At that point, an altercation was born between the group and the man, which then continued with the street chase and murder. The 41-year-old seems to have escaped on a scooter but the boys chased him by car.
One of the group told police that when they reached Ortiz, a car driven by 19-year-old Osyeanna Maria Martinez hit Ortiz and knocked him over. The man continued to escape on foot but was eventually reached and savagely beaten first with kicks and punches but then also with a pole while on the ground. For the murder, the police arrested three young men while others are under investigation. The boys stated that they knew the woman and wanted to take justice on their own without denouncing Ortiz for beating his girlfriend because the man was already on probation and they feared he could still harm his partner.
