AGI – The memorandum signed by Italy with China on the New Silk Road “was never mentioned” during the G7. “As for the specific act, we will examine it carefully”. This was stated by the Prime Minister, Mario Draghi, at the end of the summit’s work.
In the draft of the final statement of the G7, there is also the request by the world powers for a “timely and transparent” investigation into the origins of Covid to be presented to the WHO.
At the G7 US President Joe Biden pointed out that the world has not yet had access to the Wuhan laboratories in China to understand whether the Covid-19 epidemic is natural or has to do with “experiments”. He said this in the final press conference in Carbis Bay, recalling that the G7 will make sure to obtain greater transparency from China
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, on the other hand, said he does not believe that the coronavirus comes from a Chinese laboratory but believes it makes sense to keep an open mind about it.
An EU source at the end of the G7 makes it known that “The EU has been the world’s pharmacy in this pandemic. We have also managed to reach a very balanced position on the Trips exemption” for Covid vaccine patents. And he adds: “There is a clear goal of vaccinating the world population and ending the pandemic in 2022”.
