The birth took place on Monday night in a hospital in Pretoria and the news was immediately reported by the local media. The woman gave birth, by caesarean section, to seven males and three females after a pregnancy lasting less than 8 months. Teboho Tsotetsi, the woman’s husband, explained it to the press: “We are very happy but emotionally tested,” he added.
Sithole, who already has six-year-old twins, said in a previous interview she was shocked and fascinated by such a pregnancy. “When the doctors broke the news I was afraid and I started praying that all the babies I had in my womb could survive,” she said.
