The project, with the name of Inner Journey, literally inner journey, aims to regenerate commuters on their home-work journeys spent on the DLR line, the light rail that travels in the Docklands area, east of the London city.
The idea came from the charity Youmanity, which since 2008 has been dedicated to the implementation of social inclusion projects for the benefit of the whole community. There are three words around which Inner Journey revolves: break, relax and reconnect, with themselves and with the world around us. “Our goal is turn commuting into a time to relax, reflect and bridge the social gap “, reads the website.
But that is not all. There is also a series of tracks available for travelers to download and listen to to guide them through meditation. Just frame the QR codes fixed in the green corners used inside the stations and leave with experience. Because every moment is good to pause your thoughts, including the minutes of waiting between trains.
There are currently twelve trains used for this, but the project, born on the occasion of World Mental Health Day 2021, aims to expand beyond the Docklands Light Railways.
