If that car had left, not knowing it was there, it would have torn it to shreds. If this cat avoided a heartbreaking death it was thanks to the Ohio Fire Department who averted the catastrophe by returning the cat to its owner unharmed.
His family, not seeing him return as usual, started looking for him everywhere. Perhaps looking for a warm place, the cat found a small compartment between the wheel and the engine compartment of the car parked in the driveway. And there he was trapped. Luckily he was strong enough to meow and his owner, realizing the nasty mess he was in, decided to ask the firefighters for help.
The call was answered by a patrol from the North Lawerence district who, armed with screwdrivers, pliers and jacks, freed the cat by dismantling it piece by piece.
It was a long job, but fortunately without consequences for the animal, which, once released, returned to the house with its tail between its paws. Let’s hope he learned a lesson about exploring tight spaces.
