Afghanistan: Bbc, female judges threatened by the Taliban – Ultima Ora

(ANSA) – ROME, SEPTEMBER 28 – Over 220 female judges in Afghanistan live hidden in terror for fear of retaliation by the Taliban. Six of them report it to the BBC anonymously to protect them. These are important figures in the defense of women’s rights who in recent years have condemned hundreds of men for rape, violence and murder.

But after the Taliban regained power in Afghanistan, many of the convicts were released and death threats began to arrive to the judges. (HANDLE).
