The third dose of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine produces ten times more antibodies than those developed with the second dose. These are the conclusions reached by a serological study conducted by the Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan, near Tel Aviv, according to the Israeli public broadcaster Kan. The results were obtained by comparing the levels of antibodies one week after the administration of the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine with their levels one week after the administration of the second dose.
Israel was the first country to propose a third dose of the coronavirus vaccine last August 1st. The first age group to which the third dose was offered were the over 60s, while now the booster is available from twelve years of age. To date, nearly three million Israelis have received a third dose.
