There are many tweets that show the devastation caused by the water of the small river Inde, which runs for about fifty kilometers between Belgium and Germany. After the violent rainfall of the past few hours, the river, diverted years ago to favor coal mining, is overflowing, submerging the altar of the mine. There are many comments online that underline the distortions of man’s action: “Someone had created a stream for coal. Apparently water doesn’t care ”. And, again: “In 2005 the Index was diverted to the open pit mine. Nature heals itself. End of story, nothing to add ”.
