VOGHERA. An illness crushed him on Saturday afternoon during a hike in the hills, a long-awaited walk after the privations of the lockdown, in a group with those who shared his passion for nature and the landscape between Oltrepo and Val Curone. Stefano Rebollini, 55, an accountant from Voghera and consultant for a large company in Milan, died in the hills of Monleale, in the province of Alessandria.
Friends immediately raised the alarm, but any rescue attempt was useless. Even the carabinieri of the Tortona company arrived on the spot, as always happens in these circumstances, but only to ascertain that the death is undoubtedly attributable to natural causes. The body was composed in the mortuary of the Rossi funeral home in Voghera, waiting for the date of the funeral to be set.
But just take a look at the messages of condolence on social networks to understand that Stefano Rebollini will be missed by many, to all those who have crossed his path from studies to work, to the shared passions for nature, conviviality, intelligent and never banal sociality. . After graduating from the Baratta institute, Rebollini graduated in Economics from the University of Pavia, then he embarked on a career as an accountant commuting between Voghera and Milan, where his consultancy in the service sector and business organization they had made known and appreciated.
“The work took him to Milan for most of the day and the size of the big city was congenial to him – says a friend, – but his home was Voghera, the Oltrepo with its hills, its vineyards and its flavors that with he was always journeys between nature and culture ».
Stefano Rebollini lived with his parents and his sister, while a brother lives in Spain. «He had no health problems – tells a friend in tears – he was fond of trekking, but light, not extreme. I remember the walks through the vineyards of the historic Buttafuoco. He said that after the lockdown he wanted to start walking again to lose some weight. He loved life and its pleasures, but not superficially. He was a unique person, with a superior and profound intelligence ».
Friends also remember the New Year’s Eve celebrations in which he presented himself with a strictly original Scottish kilt. «He could be called a dandy, but in the true sense of the term, with elegance, irony and taste, not with extravagance as an end in itself. And he was generous, always in the front row when we organized charity initiatives. He was a true friend who kept us company and taught us to love life a little more ».
