Yuji Naka, the dad of Sonic the Hedgehog and the recent Balan Wonderworld, confirmed in a tweet that he no longer works for Square Enix and anticipated its probable withdrawal from the world of video games.

Naka: “I resigned from Square Enix at the end of April. Although I cannot explain why now, I hope to be able to do so in due course. As for my future activities, I am already 55, so I might as well retire.

Although Balan Wonderworld isn’t exactly a masterpiece, it’s always bad when a master like Naka, who gave us one of the most famous characters in video game history, talks about retiring. In addition, his message leaves many doubts about how things went with Square Enix and why he left.

However Balan Wonderworld is available for PS5, Xbox Series X and S, PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. If you are interested in having more information about the game, read our review.
