In the boundless world of Android smartphones, software updates are never lacking and, although those of yesterday were more numerous, even today we cannot complain: the producers involved are Samsung, OnePlus and Xiaomi and there are several Announcements on the plate.
Samsung Galaxy A52 and Galaxy Tab S7 / S7 +: the news of the updates
For a change, let’s start with Samsung: The South Korean manufacturer has lined up everyone by releasing the June 2021 security patches first and, unpaid, is quickly rolling out this new update.
The last name added to the list is that of the popular and appreciated Samsung Galaxy A52 mid-range (here is our review). The roll out started from Ukraine and the Caucasian region and the device is receiving the firmware version A525FXXS2AUE2. Said of the presence of the SMR (Security Maintenance Release) of June 2021, Samsung has not yet illustrated the content, so there are no details to report.
The second update is for two very good high-end tablets, those of the series Samsung Galaxy Tab S7. In this case, as can be seen from the screenshot shown, the incoming OTA file weighs 412 MB and carries the security patches of May 2021 with firmware version T87 * XXU2BUE2 for Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and T97 * XXU2BUE2 for Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 +. As with all previously updated brand devices, also in this case there are improvements for file sharing via Quick Share.
OnePlus 9R: the news of the update
Presented in the company of the much more interesting older brothers OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9R was only marketed in India, nevertheless it receives a fair amount of software support.
On the official forum of the Chinese manufacturer has just been announced the release of a new update, which leads to OnePlus 9R the version OxygenOS 22.214.171.124. It is trivially a corrective update and in fact the official changelog reads:
- Reduced power consumption in specific scenarios
- Fixed known issues for a better experience
Xiaomi Mi 11i and Xiaomi Mi 9 SE: the news of the updates
Although belonging to different generations and price ranges, the “almost top of the range” Xiaomi Mi 11i and the old compact Xiaomi Mi 9 SE travel in pairs as regards the coveted update to the MIUI 12.5.
Xiaomi Mi 11i, smartphone that also arrived in Italy exactly one month ago, is nothing more than a rebrand of Redmi K40 Pro +, however it had to wait much longer than its twin to receive this upate.
The happy note on the sidelines of this prolonged wait is twofold: first of all, the MIUI 12.5 is already rolled out in Europe; secondly, it is not the usual “Stable Beta”, but a real “Stable” version. More precisely, Xiaomi Mi 11i EEA model is receiving – even before the Global model – the build V126.96.36.199.RKKEUXM. In addition to the various graphic and functional innovations, there are also security patches for May 2021.
Xiaomi Mi 9 SE it was one of the most popular smartphones of its generation, but it never had a real successor, much to the disappointment of compact smartphone lovers. Launched with Android 9 Pie and MIUI 10, now the former best buy is updating to MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 internationally. Specifically, the Global model is already receiving the build V188.8.131.52.RFBMIXM marked as “Stable”, while the European one has yet to settle for the V184.108.40.206.RFBEUXM Beta Stable reserved for Mi Pilot users.

Not all the updates described are (already) also available in Europe. In any case, you can perform a manual search using the following paths:
- per i Samsung, “Settings> Software Updates> Download and Install“.
- for Xiaomi, “Settings> System info> MIUI version> Check for updates“.
- per i OnePlus, “Settings > System > Software update“.
