Resident Evil Village it has only been available for a handful of days, obtaining the almost undisputed approval of most of the specialized press.
The eighth chapter of the Capcom franchise continues the story of the unfortunate Ethan Winters, through an adventure (subjective) that seems to have satisfied most of the historical fans of the franchise, and beyond.
Apparently, however, despite the scattered praise (including that of our rich review by Domenico Musicò), it seems that the EDGE editors were not particularly impressed with the game, assigning them a really low rating.
Resident Evil Village has indeed brought home a lukewarm sufficiency, unlike the far more convincing Returnal, Housemarque’s roguelike for PS5 capable of getting a decent 8.
Also Pokémon Snap for Nintendo Switch consoles seems to have convinced the editors of the British magazine, bringing home an equally remarkable 8.
Just below, the complete list of votes that appeared in the issue 359 by EDGE (via ResetEra):
- Resident Evil Village – 6
- Returnal – 8
- Pokémon Snap – 8
- Oddworld Soulstorm – 5
- Famicom Detective Club – 5
- R-Type Final 2 – 7
- Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion – 7
- Tasomachi: Behind the Twilight – 6
- MaskMaker – 7
- World of Demons – 6
- Ashwalkers – 4
We also recall that a few weeks ago a handful of images appeared that testify as a well-known character from the saga of Biohazard has been cut from Village.
But not only that: the team of Digital Foundry recently discovered that the PS5 version of Village has 600% faster loading times than the Xbox Series X, a substantial difference that has stunned a large number of players.
