According to insider @RalphsValve, Activision Blizzard would be thinking of reviewing theannuity of the series Call of Duty, changing the launch cadence of the titles in the series. Unfortunately there is no mention of reasons, but it is not difficult to imagine where the problem may be.
I development cycles triple A titles are getting longer and longer and the scheme adopted so far with success by Call of Duty, based on the use of three distinct teams, plus others supporting, who alternate at the helm of the series, may not work in the immediate future.
After all, the last few episodes have had several problems in terms of cleaning and content and over the years there has been talk of numerous cuts used to allow the launch by the stability date. So the solution could be to extend the development time of individual games, launching a chapter every two years. A bit like what Ubisoft did with the Assassin’s Creed series, at least before announcing that it would become a platform live service with the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Infinity.
