In the morning of today, 12 October 2021, Vodafone communicated to some of its customers the need to have to turn your smartphone off and on again following some updates on the mobile network, action that would have concerned the VoLTE functionality, for calls on the 4G network, for some devices.

The operator has indeed sent an SMS to some customers impacted by the updates made on the Vodafone network.

Below is the text of the message sent by the operator to some existing customers on the mobile network:

We have made updates on our network. To make the best use of our services, please turn your phone off and on again

Some Vodafone customers were therefore invited to turn the phone off and on again to allow you to apply new features on your SIM.

According to sources verified by MondoMobileWeb, this communication would have become necessary following some updates on the Vodafone mobile network to allow you to re-enable VoLTE functionality (Voice over LTE), with which you can make calls while remaining on the 4G network, avoiding the “switch” to lower networks (in the case of Vodafone only towards 2G with which it is not possible to navigate during calls), for some devices.
