PS5 received a new one update which brings the console firmware to version 21.02-04.02.00.02. Sony has provided details regarding theupdate, which apparently improves system performance.
Featuring a weight equal to 913.7 MB, the update differs in many ways from the update 21.02-04.00.00.42, which introduced a whole series of new features for the Sony console and therefore boasted a much more substantial changelog than the current one.
In fact, the notes published by the Japanese company merely contain the phrase “This update improves system performance”, which suggests that we are facing a refinement update, if we want to define it so.
Clearly there is the possibility that the new firmware actually introduces “under the body” features that can change the user experience of PlayStation 5, for example by further optimizing the dissipation system.
After all, we know that Sony is distributing a new PS5 model that heats much less than the original, according to some tests, despite mounting a smaller heatsink.
