BMW 2 Series Active Tourer: soon the new generation

THE FIRST PHOTO – The BMW Series 2 Active Tourer together with the Mercedes B-Class it is one of the few premium minivans on the market. The first generation debuted in 2014 and, after the facelift of 2018, it’s time for the second generation. Shortly after the debut, the first image showing the car without veils leaks out on social networks.

STRONGER LOOK – The new BMW Series 2 Active Tourer it has similar proportions to the previous one, but the style has evolved and has been conformed to what is the current family feeling of the German house. At the front there is a large grille, significantly larger than the old one, and integrated into a compact hood. The headlights are thinner and the side air intakes positioned on the bumper higher, with vertical chrome elements. Overall, the second generation 2 Series Active Tourer looks sportier, despite a car body that develops in height. The version of the photo is the 223i combined with the M Sport package.

MORE TECHNOLOGICAL INTERIORS – No pictures of the rear of the new one were leaked BMW Series 2 Active Tourer, but from the spy photographs dating back to a few months ago, we know that it will have horizontal LED lights, with a more inclined rear window with integrated spoiler. The interior should be filled with technology thanks to the presence of a digital dashboard visible on a curved panel similar to that present on the iX, and a complete multimedia system. The Grand Tourer variant, i.e. the long wheelbase version, will be eliminated from the range, so the normal Active Tourer version should grow in size.

AND ENGINES – The new BMW Series 2 Active Tourer it will be engineered on the UKL platform, in an updated version, which will also be shared with the next X1 and X2, and will be available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive (xDrive). As for the engines, a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder petrol and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel should be present in the range, in addition to the plug-in hybrid with more power and greater autonomy.

IMMINENT DEBUT – The official debut of the BMW Series 2 Active Tourer is expected in the coming weeks, with production expected to start in November 2021 and deliveries in the early months of 2022.
