In occasione del The Last of Us Day, Naughty Dog offers us a small update on the progress of Factions, the long-awaited standalone multiplayer expansion of The Last of Us Parte 2, with a post on the studio’s official website.
The open letter written by Rochelle Snyder, Sr. Manager Communications at Naughty Dog, thanks the fans for their ongoing support and support that has made The Last of Us series successful worldwide.
“We are continually in awe of the support you provide and know that our team reads fan letters, marvel at the artwork you make and are moved when you recreate something from The Last of Us in your world.“, writes Snyder, who is keen to thank the development team as well.”The Last of Us Day is also an opportunity to thank our incredible team within the studio who believed in this franchise – you are the best and your efforts are leaving indelible marks on the world.”
As mentioned in the opening, the post also offers a little update on the state of work of the factions multiplayer mode of The Last of Us. In this sense, Snyder confirms that the team is currently expanding by hiring new staff and that the studio is quite satisfied with how the project is taking shape, which however will only be presented to the public at an advanced stage of the work.
“In short, we are working on it – we see the comments from the community, many of you are clamoring for multiplayer and wish to have updates on it. For the moment, let’s say we love what the team is developing and want to give them the time to build their ambitious project, we’ll reveal more details when it’s ready! To achieve this, we have been committed to growing our team ever since The Last of Us Part 2 came out and are currently hiring for multiplayer-related job positions, so if you or someone is qualified for any of the open positions you are come forward!“
To round off The Last of Us Day, Naughty Dog also released the first official image of HBO’s The Last of Us TV series starring Joel and Ellie, played by Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey.
