First stolen shots of the interior of the Alfa Romeo Tonale, the long-awaited new SUV from the Biscione that will make its debut in front of the general public at the Geneva Motor Show 2022 to arrive in dealerships in June. The tests of the forklifts are proceeding tightly, with several spy photos circulating on the web and depicting the new model of the Biscione car company engaged on the road with the usual camouflage livery to hide the design of the car. The latest set of images released on the web shows a part of the passenger compartment that can be glimpsed from an open window, with a first glimpse of what could be the dashboard of the Alfa Romeo Tonale.
The spy photo shows an analog instrument panel, with the odometer and its needle clearly visible and the touch screen of the infotainment system with a cantilever screen, a solution already seen on Stelvio and Giulia. It is not clear if this will be the definitive version, confirming the absence of a digital cockpit or if the one photographed is only a basic version without a display. Another hypothesis could be linked to the lack of chips, with the Arese car manufacturer that would be testing versions without a digital instrument panel precisely because of the semiconductor crisis. The new Alfa Romeo will share the floor with the Jeep Compass and probably some of the engines offered in the range. According to the latest rumors, in fact, the Biscione’s proposal for the new Tonale should include the 4-cylinder 1.3 turbo engine with a power exceeding the 239 HP that push the Compass. It is also possible that the offer of petrol engines includes an electrified solution with 48 Volt MHEV technology which, in any case, should arrive at a later time compared to the launch of the model. Space also the 1.6 Multijet turbodiesel as well as the plug-in hybrid, the version that will sanction Alfa Romeo’s entry into electric mobility. The new SUV of the Biscione will be produced in Pomigliano d’Arco, starting from the first quarter of 2022.
