Jeff Williams, Apple’s Chief Operating Officer, takes the stage at the Apple Event to tell us about the future of Apple Watch. There has been talk of watchOS 8 and the potential of the latest version of the operating system, suitable for both sports and casual users. The real protagonist was though Apple Watch Series 7, the latest incarnation of the smartwatch according to Cupertino.
New design, a revolutionary display and a redesigned interface to offer even more immediate use. The news are really numerous: let’s discover them together.
Apple Watch Series 7: The toughest Apple smartwatch ever
The first novelty that catches the eye is the display: the Apple Watch Series 7 screen is 20% wider than Series 6, extending the borders of the display to the edges of the device. Design borderless with curved screen, but also a thinner body – 40%, again compared to Series 6 -, which gives an even more elegant style to the Cupertino smartwatch. The new screen also guarantees greater brightness in always-on mode – up to 70%.
L‘user interface has been redesigned to fit the large Series 7 display. We find larger buttons and new options for text input, including a keyboard full-size which can be used by sliding your finger from one character to another. The new device seems particularly suitable for exchanging messages, being able to show 50% more text than Series 6.
Key word: durability. According to Jeff Wiliams, Apple Watch Series 7 is the most resistant smartwatch ever made by the Cupertino giant. The glass that protects the screen is resistant to cracks, shocks and dust, relying on the IP6X certification – it is the first Apple Watch with this type of certification. Of course, water resistance is not lacking.
On the autonomy front we find a more efficient battery, capable of guaranteeing up to 18 hours of use it’s a 30% faster charging, thanks to fast charging via USB-C cable. Larger screen, but battery the same size as the one in Series 6.
