Although three years have passed since the announcement, The Elder Scrolls 6 it is still shrouded in total mystery. It has never shown up and does not even have a launch window, unlike Starfield, which was presented during the same conference at E3 2018 and in the meantime received a release date (11 November 2022).

A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then and Bethesda has also been acquired by Microsoft. Yet, it seems that the wait is still going to be very long. In a recent interview with IGN as part of the Unlocked podcast, the boss of the Xbox division Phil Spencer explained that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be released after Fable and Avowed, two other exclusive RPGs currently in development at Playground Games and Obsidian Entertainment, respectively. Since even the latter do not have a launch date, the impression is that there will still be much to wait. In recent times, journalist Jeff Grubb has spoken of 2023 as a possible year of publication for Fable and AVowed, consequently – if that turns out to be true – we may not see The Elders Scrolls 6 before 2024.

Spencer also reassured players concerned about the excessive number of RPGs in development under the same label, explaining that Fable, Avowed and The Elder Scrolls 6 will be very different from each other and endowed with distinctive personalities.
