Telecom Italia SpA is working to review the agreement signed with dazn to support the streaming sports platform in its multimillion-dollar offer for the TV rights of the matches of the top Italian football league: the A league.
The decision comes following concerns raised by the Antitrust that the agreement could harm competition. For this reason Tim and Dazn will try to offer solutions to the authority as early as Friday.
Solutions that will guarantee customers the ability to choose their preferred internet subscription regardless of sports content. Telecom Italia would refrain from proposing offerte bundle which include broadband subscriptions along with Dazn and content from other broadcasters.
At the beginning of July, the AGCM opened an investigation into the agreement between the two parties, stating that it could lead to “significant distortions of competition» e «possible economic damage»And may prevent customers from freely choosing their Internet provider and how to use Dazn.
Under the terms of the agreement, Tim has agreed to pay Dazn around 1 billion euros in an agreement for the distribution of Serie A in the next three seasons, hence the offers already known on the TimVision platform.
