Updates for Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 9 and others

Today’s software updates are not particularly numerous, however they touch some of the main premium Android smartphones on the market such as Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. Alongside them there are also much older models such as Xiaomi Mi 9 and cheap ones such as Samsung Galaxy J8.

Without further ado, let’s find out all the news in these new software updates.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and Xiaomi Mi 9: the news of the updates

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra (here is our review) has a technical equipment that justifies its name, however, like other smartphones that use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC (here is our comparison with the main competitors), it does not shine in terms of temperature management.

Now the MIUI developers seem to have found a solution to keep the smartphone cooler: starting from the Chinese model, the new build has been released MIUI According to what was found with the first field tests, it seems that the Xiaomi developers have hit the mark: the updated Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, in particularly intense use contexts, would have shown a lowering of temperatures in the order of 5°C compared to the same operations performed before the update. Unfortunately, there is currently no official explanation as to how such an effect could be achieved.

Xiaomi Mi 9 is much less recent and much less intriguing from a technical point of view than the model just discussed, however it is receiving a much more interesting software update: the MIUI 12.5 (here is our dedicated in-depth analysis with news and so on). The new update is already rolling out in our part, it is in fact an EU build, more precisely of the MIUI V12.5.1.0.RFAEUXM.

As you can see from the screenshots shown, the build is labeled as Stable, even it is most likely the usual Stable Beta. In short, it is likely that it is the classic gradual roll out, therefore currently not very extensive and ready to expand once the presence of important bugs has been avoided. If for the graphic and functional news you can refer to our in-depth analysis linked above, know that the build also includes the security patches of the month of June 2021.
