On 21 April, a very special auction will start at Sotheby’s, featuring a one-of-a-kind Lancia Delta. It’s about a HF Integrale 16 valves from 1990, in a bright red color that has an almost incredible peculiarity: IT’S UNA KM ZERO!
A piece that appeals to all collectors because it is practically impossible to find, a car that in 31 years covered less than 200 km, 192 to be exact. It is one of the most coveted versions in the collector’s world, the one released at the end of 1989, with the 16-valve engine instead of the previous 8V, which thanks to a different geometry of the Garret turbine, delivers 200 horsepower against 185 the year before.
This model, in addition to the greater power delivered, differs from the old one, for the burnished rims, the trim even more lowered, and the curvature on the front hood, which was necessary to house the new cylinder head with a different distribution.
To date the value of one Lancia Delta Integrale 16 valves (pre evolution), it is really very high if restored or in good conditions of use, with an average mileage for a thirty-year car, and can fluctuate between 50 and 100 thousand euros depending on whether the car is original or not. The HF Integrale at auction, according to Sotheby’s, could be sold for a fluctuating figure between 75,000 and 90,000 euros, but we are sure that there will be a real “war” with increases to win it and the value at which it will be “beaten” will be at least ten times higher than the forecast.

Delta emigrated to Germany
The history of this wonderful Lancia Delta is also very special. According to the auction house, the car was purchased in 1990 by the owner of an official Italian dealership in the province of Brescia, and practically never used for 26 years, when it passed into the hands of a German collector.
Arrived in Germany, the new owner has completely “serviced” the Lancia, replacing it also the timing belt, water pump and equipped it with new Pirelli Pzero tires.
Looking at the photos of the Delta Integrale, it is impossible not to get excited and not want it. Starting from the bodywork, which boasts an original paint of a flaming red, without the slightest aesthetic defect and without any modification, it seems to have been catapulted into a Lancia dealership in the 90s!
The same sensation arouses the opening of the bonnet, all frighteningly new, without a thread of dust, with shiny pipes and bolts never touched, as well as all labels, even the adhesive ones, in their place and without any signs of wear.
Scrolling through the published photos, you arrive inside the cockpit where you won’t believe your eyes. Do you remember the cellophane that our grandparents and fathers left for at least a year stuck on the carpet of the new car? Here, on this Lancia Delta Integrale, it is still present, and goes to cover not only the lower carpet, but also the internal door panels.
There are two options that make this HF even more unique, and they are: Recaro seats upholstered in leather black and the electric sunroof, both accessories, were also not common on the car at the time. Still, staying inside the cockpit, there is a start looking the original Pioneer “cassette player”, and the conditions in general of all the components of the car, such as the pedals, the steering wheel and the gear knob, which confirm the mileage being all new, as never used.

Let’s take back the Mona Lisa, ah no, the Delta ..
We believe it is time for this piece of motoring history to return to the homeland, and we also trust in our readers. The fact that the Delta Integrale is located in Germany makes it worthwhile re-registration operations in our country really simple.
Among other things, the current owner has kept the original Italian documents of the Lancia, including registration with ASI, therefore, with the new legislation regarding historic cars, it would be really child’s play to even recover the car’s original plate.
Finally, with the car, there are all the use and maintenance manuals, the service booklet, the double keys and the brochures of the time with the commercials of the Lancia Delta HF Turbo Integrale 16 V with 200 horsepower, 5-speed manual gearbox and permanent 4wd traction with torque split into 47% front and 53% rear.
We are sure that you will not miss the deal of life, to be handed down from father to son and we are waiting for you to contact us after winning the “Deltone” to test it together and tell it to all our readers.
