Qatar GP 2 Race: Vinales, “I managed too much at the start of the race”

“The race certainly didn’t go as we expected, but I’m still quite happy, because in the end this is a positive result. At the beginning I managed the tires a lot to be able to be stronger in the end. It paid off, because in the end I was very strong, especially the rear grip was good. I just wish we had five more laps. We will try to come back stronger. I know we need to improve some areas, mainly my driving style. The most important thing is that the bike has great potential and we have shown that in the last ten laps. I was trying to overtake and be stronger with each lap. We tried, and overall I felt it was a positive day, even if the results didn’t show our true potential for Race 2 in Qatar. However, I think fifth is a good result, and I fought with everything I had. ”
