MotoGP | Top-3 interviews qualifying Doha 2021: Martin, Zarco, Vinales – Moto

The second pole position of the season, in the second consecutive race at the Losail circuit in Qatar, was conquered by the Ducati Pramac of Jorge Martin, rookie on pole in his second top-class race. Behind him the box mate Johann Zarco and the Yamaha of Maverick Vinales. These are the statements of the first three to the microphones of Sky Sport.

Jorge Martin (1°, Ducati Pramac): “Really nice pole. I drove very well. I was worried about the wind, I usually don’t like it. But I used a slightly different style and I managed to get this pole after a lot of work. I took a ride on my own, gave 100% and made no mistakes. I went curve by curve, I didn’t know if I would do the next one. Go alone and shoot like this… Tomorrow, however, will be long and difficult. I hope to learn as much as possible ”.

Johann Zarco (2°, Ducati Pramac): “We are happy. Jorge is the surprise, he made a work of the Madonna this evening. In the first attempt I gained confidence with the new tires. The time of 53.9 wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t enough. Everyone went very fast and I didn’t have enough time to do two laps at the end, but I had enough confidence to try on just one lap. It went pretty well, I’m very happy. Also in PL4 I managed to do some good laps. The wind was very strong, you really had to push and not think so much. Tomorrow I think we will both be able to have a good race “.

Maverick Vinales (3°, Yamaha): “They did a good job. In the first stint I was not feeling very well, I was sliding behind. I didn’t take a good ride. I felt good on the second time attack. I’m happy because the lap was very good in FP4 too. This is important. Now focus for tomorrow, today’s goal has been done“.
