MotoGP, Vinales: “Now there is more loyalty and trust in the garage, I can stay calm”

Maverick Vinales seems to have subscribed to third place in qualifying in Qatar. Remembering what happened a week ago in the race, it’s not a bad place to start for the Spaniard. However, Q2 was not a walk for him, after the first attempt he returned to the pits shaking his head and seemed to have gone into crisis.

“In the garage the situation has changed, there is more trust and loyalty – points out – The first attempt did not go well and I wanted to make it clear to my team so that they didn’t touch anything. S.I stayed calm, it will serve as a lesson if I have more difficult times, I went back and pushed hard”.

“It wasn’t easy to take the front row, but then I did a good lap and I thought it was enough for pole, so hats off to Martin and Zarco. Especially Johann has been working smart these days, he has a good pace, as well as Quartararo and Mir”.

What did you work on in the rehearsals?
“Only on small things, in FP4 the wind was very strong and I believe that tomorrow, if it decreases, I will be able to be faster in the third sector of the track. I feel good in the saddle and that’s the most important thing”.

What do you expect from Martin in the race?
“I am very talented, already last Sunday we fought a bit. I believe it will become a strong rival in the future”.

Will the Ducatis always have an advantage at the start?
“ANDamaha is working on the system that lowers the bike to the front, it will bring it as soon as possible. Losail is a particular track, we can overtake in corners, but on other circuits it won’t be possible and the start will be more important. I hope to be the best at the start… after the Ducatis (ride)”.

What do you expect for the race?
“The rhythm seems clear to me, but then anything can happen. My plan is to push from the first lap, set a fast pace and manage the tires. Let’s see if I can be stronger than last Sunday”.
