This means that the center will not be available to Crowley and his technical staff for the next few weeks, between continental competitions and the unprecedented Guinness Rainbow Cup.
Benetton Rugby: the verdict of the disqualification imposed on Tommaso Benvenuti
Tommaso Benvenuti was banned for a period of three weeks following a subpoena by the Citing Commissioner for the Guinness PRO14 Round 11 match played against the Glasgow Warriors on March 27, 2021.
The player was sued under Law 9.12 – A player must not physically abuse anyone. Physical abuse includes, but is not limited to biting, punching, contact with the eye or eye area, hitting with any part of the arm (including stiff arm tackles), shoulder, head or knee, stomping, stomping , trip or kick.
The disciplinary process for the subpoena was chaired by Bailiff John Carroll (Ireland) who concluded that a low-end point-of-entry offense had occurred, resulting in a four-week suspension.
After considering all available material, considering the player’s previous disciplinary record and the fact that he did not accept that his foul deserved a red card, the disqualification was reduced by 25% (one week).
