The Italian Rugby Federation takes a further step towards the restart of the entire national rugby system. The presidential resolution taken, whose implementation takes effect immediately, follows a series of positive talks with CONI and recognizes the activities of the Under 14 Men and Women as of pre-eminent national interest, in order to ensure a more effective transition of the participants to the following categories for the 2021/2022 Sports Season. From Friday 1 April all athletes belonging to the U14 category will be able to resume training with contact throughout the national territory in view of participation in the optional competitive activity in June. and May and optional participation in competitive competitions may take place, like the other recognized categories of pre-eminent national interest, in full compliance with the current protocol for resuming training. “I am happy to have signed a resolution this morning that, already in the next few days, will bring back on the field the girls and boys of the U14 who for too long have been waiting to return to practice our splendid sport” declared the President of FIR, Marzio Innocenti . “The U14 category is of central importance in the training of players and the strategic nature of this activity has led us to include it in the categories of national interest recognized by CONI. The enthusiasm for the U14 resumption must not, however, distract us from continuing to pay maximum attention to the protocols, designed in the interest of the great family of Italian rugby, which we are actively committed to bringing back to the field, in all its categories, in safety and at the most opportune times ”added the Federal President.
