Genoa. The Serie C men’s volleyball championship has reached the seventh day of the two groups in which this year is divided. The virtual halfway point of the first phase of the season saw numerous races postponed due to the pandemic from Covid-19, but recoveries are expected in April.

In group A the first place is from the Avis Finale by Andrea Paroli; sixteen points so far, with five victories and only one defeat. Second place for Albisola, three points behind, third for Sabazia at nine, but with one race less.

In last weekend’s shift Albisola trained since August and Caviglia got the better of a tough Sant’Antonio, who only succumbed to the tie break. The Albisolese started well, but suffered from the return of the Genoese, able to go 1-2 ahead after a spectacular 25-27 in the third set. Won the fourth set 25-23, the hosts also took the decisive set for 15-11, collecting the two points.
Round victory, however, for Grafiche Amadeo Sanremo, which on Sunday evening folded the Spazio sport Genova into three sets. The third Serie C match of the day was Sabazia – Final, but it will be played on April 15th.

On Wednesday 31st, however, the group saw a recovery match from the turn of the 20th March. In Genoa Pontedecimo the Spazio sport hosted the Sabazia. The Vadesi gave up the first, balanced set 25-23, but then won the next three partials, conquering the Genoese gymnasium and taking home the three points.

In group B fewer races took place in the series. Undefeated Colombo Genova leads the standings, who collected 11 points in four matches. Second place for Mulattieri creations, at eight, third for Volleyball Futura Avis Bertoni with six points (in three matches).

The last round played, however, dates back to March 20; that day Colombo had folded the Volley Colombiera Sarzana project with a clear 3-1, comeback. The next races are scheduled for April 10, when the Futura Avis Bertoni will go to Sarzana and the Colombo will be in Chiavari, at the home of the three-star Village.
