Jonathan Vaughters he lashes out Ralph Denk without compromise. The team manager of the EF-Nippo wanted to comment on his Twitter profile on the most awaited cyclomarket event of this season: Peter Sagan’s decision on his next team. Slovak is due with the Bora-Hansgrohe, a team with which he signed the rich contract of about five million euros per season. The team manager of the German team, Denk, last week made statements in which he wondered about the real usefulness of keeping the three-time world champion on the roster, calling him “in the autumn of his career”. Words that obviously were not appreciated by his colleague, who took a stand in defense of the runner.
On your own profile Twitter, Vaughters linked the article with Denk’s statements and commented on them with the following caption: “Now that I am one of the veteran managers in professional cycling, I am often asked who you respect as a manager in sport. My answer is Patrick Lefevere and Doug Ryder. Ralph Denk forgets that he wouldn’t have a World Tour team without Peter Sagan“.
An answer that certainly opens the possible intrigue of the cyclomarket: the EF-Nippo has a good team for the classics, but certainly cannot count on a top sprinter and this season has not collected important results, thanks to the difficulties in the winter preparation of Alberto Bettiol and the injury of Michael Valgren. And certainly Sagan’s situation is tempting to various teams, who will try to ensure the Slovak champion’s performance.
