(ANSA) – ROSETO DEGLI ABRUZZI, 24 JUN – Four gold medals and one silver is the balance of Italy on the day of the finals of the Under 22 European Boxing Championships in the PalaMaggetti ring in Roseto.
In the women’s 48 kg the Marcianise bell Giovanna Marchese won the gold by overcoming the Ukrainian Shalimova by points for split decision, 3-2 at the end of an intense and balanced match.
Silver for 54 Kg Giulia LaMagna, overtaken in the final (5-0) by the French Cruveiller. Extraordinary the gold of the 57 Kg Sirine Chaarabi, who in the final dominates her Finnish opponent Vitanen far and wide. Chaarabi, also from Campania (from San Prisco), is the 22-year-old born in Tunisia, but in Italy since she was two, who in 2017 launched a petition on Change.org and wrote a letter to the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella asking her granted Italian citizenship so that he could fight for Italy.
