New maxi fight in Piazza dei Mercanti yesterday in Milan. Dozens of young people, mostly foreigners and even minors, threw themselves against each other with kicks, punches, bottles and chairs thrown.
There were moments of real panic on the part of some passers-by involved in spite of themselves in what has been called one of the biggest fights ever seen in Milan.
The images spread on the web by the account @welcome.tofavelas they were shot from a window overlooking the square. A very central place, a few steps from the Duomo, already the scene of similar clashes that occurred in late May.
After the serious events of the past weeks that culminated on Saturday 5 June with the stabbing of a 26 year old at the Colonne di S. Lorenzo, Milan continues to collect scenes of violence among young people.
In yesterday’s fight there was a first police intervention at 17, to disperse a gathering of about a hundred young people.
A second at 18.45 to quell the mega brawl that involved something like fifty boys. In recent months the place has often been the scene of fights and stabbings.
