Francesco Paolo Figliuolo and Riccardo Di Segni, the special commissioner for the Covid emergency and the Chief Rabbi of Rome will open – Sunday 13 June 2021 – the 14th edition of “Jewish”, International Culture Festival that will take place (until June 17, 2021) in the Jewish Quarter of Rome and online on the Festival’s social channels (www.ebraicafestival.it).
The general and the rabbi will talk about “Second Life” – this is the title of the 2021 edition – during the conversation “Seeing the future”, on the theme of restarting, hosted at Palazzo della Cultura (from 7.30 pm). Meeting moderated by the director of the newspaper La Repubblica, Maurizio Molinari.
Promoted by the Jewish Community of Rome and edited by Marco Panella, Ariela Piattelli and Raffaella Spizzichino, the Festival will question the great themes of post-pandemic change and the future through meetings and appointments with the great protagonists of the world of culture, entertainment, literature and science.
“Second Life” just as an opportunity to rethink both the life of each of us and common life, in the sense of relational, social, technological, energetic and environmental sustainability.
Sunday 13 June 2021 – the evening will continue with the Roman singer and actress Tosca in the monologue Soldo de Cacio, by Gianni Clementi in which she tells the story of a Jewess, Giuditta, and of other Jews who, like her, were saved thanks to the use of the mask (in collaboration with the Fondazione Museo della Shoah).
Also on Sunday, the photographic exhibition “Waters to Waters – Back to life?” of Merav Maroody. It will also be possible to visit the Jewish Museum of Rome (9.30pm-11.20pm) and the Casina dei Vallati – Foundation Museum of the Shoah open continuously from 10am to 11.30pm (last admission 11pm).
Monday 14 June 2021 – “Innovation and resilience. The Israel case ”is the title of the conversation between Dani Schaumann Vice President of the Italy – Israel Chamber of Commerce, professor Sheba Elhanan Bar-On, director of the Israeli center for disaster medicine and humanitarian medicine, Massimo Lomonaco writer and journalist and the chef Nadia Ellis (online from 7pm).
From 7.30 pm the Palazzo della Cultura (and also in streaming) the dance show “Re-born”, by Mario Piazza, which interprets and explores the Jewish concept of rebirth through poems by Umberto Saba, Leah Goldberg with Klezmer and Philip Glass music .
Then the meeting, “TV series. The new life of the book ”moderated by Mauro Donzelli (Coming Soon). Among the speakers Alessandro D’Alatri, Omri Givon, Gioacchino Criaco, Fabrizio Zappi and Ariela Piattelli.
Tuesday 15 June 2021 – the evening (from 6 pm) will open with the online meeting “Space. Second life of humanity? ” with Massimo Claudio Comparini and Simonetta Iarlori, moderated by Marco Panella. Following, from 7 pm, the online meeting “Water is life”, with Emuna Elon and Simonetta della Seta. The post-pandemic work model will be the topic of the online debate at 8 pm – “Alone or well accompanied?” between Marco Panella and the expert in political economy Raffaella Sadun.
The meeting with the writers will close the evening Lia Levi and Edoardo Camurri and Ariela Piattelli, who at the Palazzo della Cultura from 8.30 pm will be the protagonists of the theme “Telling is another rebirth”.
Wednesday 16 June 2021 – online (from 7 pm) the meeting on “Smart living. Cities, houses, people ”, in which Marco Panella, Fabrizio Iaccarino and Marco Frittella they will question the new relationship model between people, communities, urban spaces and the environment in the name of sustainability and social innovation. Afterwards, Raiz (Almamegretta), will present his new book The Kiss of Brianna at the Palazzo della Cultura (from 8.30 pm).
Thursday 17 June 2021 – Palazzo della Cultura (live & streaming from 6.30 pm), in collaboration with the Jewish Museum of Rome, will present at 6.30 pm “History of Jews, Italian history” with Loretta Cavaricci, Germano Maifreda and Serena Di Nepi.
At the end of the Festival, Raffaele Morelli (Riza Institute of Psychosomatic Medicine) will hold a Lectio Magistralis (7.30 pm) centered on the pivotal theme of the festival, entitled “Days of rebirth”: “Starting again is rediscovering our destiny, our Uniqueness and our belonging to Universe. These are the best days to get closer to what we are deep inside ».
