Rome, Caudo: primaries are a celebration of the people not only of members
In view of the primaries, the “Caudo-point”
Rome, June 9 (askanews) – “The primaries are a celebration of the people in which those who have the party card do not vote but all those who have the electoral card, just go to the gazebos. It is a great tool of democracy foreseen by the statute of the Democratic Party, but for it to make sense the Romans must choose their candidate, because whoever wins will have the support of all the others ”. This was stated by Giovanni Caudo, candidate in the center-left primaries, president of the III Municipality and professor of urban planning at the Roma Tre University, during the meeting with the press that took place this morning at the headquarters of the “Caudo Mayor Committee” in via Crescimbeni, in Rome. “A workshop of ideas rather than an already blocked program; a plot that is built together with the committees, associations, living realities present in the area by putting together the daily problems of the city, that is the ‘sidewalk’, and the international ambitions of Rome, that is the ‘sky’. This is what we are doing – explained Caudo – and which we are working on on several fronts and which pervades the capital on all fronts: from mobility, to innovation, to inequalities, to gender struggles, to ‘Roma Agricola’ “. The meeting was attended by Francesco Sirleto, candidate for president in the center-left primaries for Municipality V, and some volunteers who will animate the public debate on primaries perceived a bit muted in the context of the Caudo-points, or fixed gazebos located in various areas of the city (piazza Fiume, piazza Gimma, Conca d’Oro, Cola di Rienzo, Giulio Agricola, Alberone and Trastevere, via Roma Libera). The aim is to talk to citizens, getting closer to politics when they left it because they were disappointed, explaining how the primaries will be organized and distributing the candidacy material. There are also some mobile stalls.
