Serendip, the solidarity film produced by Antonio Di Leonardo and Andrea Mariani from Abruzzo and directed by Marco Napoli, arrives at the International Black Silk Tulip Festival.

The festival, chaired by Diego Righini, with the artistic direction of Paola Tassone and the participation of Rai Cinema, aims to promote the essence of places and people through images and stories. Serendip was chosen precisely for this. In fact, it tells the exciting journey of Antonio and Andrea, who are the protagonists and producers of the film, made in Sri Lanka in 2017. An itinerary in a distant land that gives a face to hospitality, solidarity, the communion of values and feelings.

“It was a great honor to have been among the ten finalists of the festival – comments Antonio Di Leonardo -. The words spent by the film critic Catello Masullo on our film made us proud and, after the awards received around the world, having been guests in the historic Cinema Giulio Cesare in Rome increases in us the awareness of being on the right path, of having to continue to work on the distribution of this film to convey our message and get it to as many people as possible and, why not, start working on the next film ”.

Positive comment from the jury composed among others by Mimmo Calopreste and by the actress Valeria Milillo. “Serendip is an extraordinary action of solidarity – commented the critic Catello Masullo – congratulations for having told us this beautiful story that makes us more aware and involved in an important theme”.

Serendip is part of the path of the project conceived by Antonio and Andrea, Take me back, the network of solidarity couriers born in 2016 that deals with delivering school materials to children in difficulty through numerous volunteers all over the world.
“The film – adds Antonio Di Leonardo – arises precisely from the need to film our deliveries, a necessity that for us has been essential since the beginning of our solidarity activity. Both for transparency of operations and to awaken the beauty of solidarity in people ”.

Many international awards that the docufilm has won in various events in recent years: from the Lucca Film Festival to the Calcutta Film Festival. Then the participation in film events in Mexico (Valle Film Fest), Japan (Italy, my love) and England. Last milestone, before the stage of the Giulio Cesare cinema, the distribution on Amazon Prime.
