(LaPresse) Two hours of rain and Rome sinks under a meter of water. The inhabitants of Corso di Francia, a good area of Northern Rome, who have always been used to having their houses flooded and are now resigned to not seeing the problem solved, are well aware of this. The storm that hit the capital, however, is unprecedented for them. «It was very violent and in a few minutes the manholes were flooded – tells us Maria who lives on the ground floor in line with the road – the water immediately entered the house through the windows and doors. I have to throw everything away ». “My daughter was alone in the house – explains Amin – she was studying when the water came in through the window”. Amin lives in a basement and for him it was the first time: «She was very scared, she had to jump down the stairs in a panic». The most angry is Anita: “We were doing the housework, they were renovating and now I have to throw everything away,” she vents in tears. The problem for them is the clogged manholes and the fault lies with “the municipality that never listened to us.”
