Blitz to evict an Ater accommodation in Via Salvatore Lorizzo 115 in Spinaceto (Rome), illegally occupied by Casamonica clan who, together with that of the Spada and Bevilacqua families, have settled in the neighborhood for years, where they control drug dealing and the occupation racket.
The operation ordered by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Rome was carried out by about 50 agents of the State Police and of Rome Capital with the support of Ater staff and did not record any accidents. Romolo Casamonica and his partner came from another illegally occupied Ater accommodation in Via Lorizzo from which they had been cleared a year and a half ago.
The accommodation released today has returned to Ater Roma’s availability to be regularly assigned. “Ater’s action continues in the fight against illegality thanks to a close collaboration with the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Police Forces”, comments Ater director Andrea Napoletano. “The operation carried out today adds an important step in the battle against the criminal clans in Rome,” adds the regional councilor of the House Massimiliano Valeriani. The Ater, in defense of the vacated and empty housing, has set up anti-intrusion alarms connected to the police.
