Milano – Wednesday 9 June 2021 the Sala Donatoni, new concert hall in Milan recently inaugurated at Lotto 9 of the Steam Factory, hosts two new concerts focusing on the use of the piano in an original way, on musical composition inspired by the geometry of fractals and the musical techniques of Josquin Desprez 500 years after his death.
Milano – Protagonist of the first concert (starts at ore 18.30) the resonance of the piano, which Tristan Murail focuses on two pieces written about thirty years apart from each other – The works and the days (2002) e Territories of oblivion (1976-77) – and here entrusted to the execution of Erik Bertsch.
Milano – The second concert (starts at ore 20.30), as well as proposing two absolute premieres of the two Composers in residence 2021, Italian Edoardo Dadone and the Japanese Yukiko Watanabe – respectively Phylum: Chordata (Gashes II) for voice, viola and ensemble (2021) e For hikers for ensemble (2021) -, proposes two overwhelming pages, respectively by Hanspeter Kyburz – Networks for ensemble (2003; rev. 2012), inspired by Japanese Zen painting and fractal geometry – and by Georg Friedrich Haas – Three things conceived by one, for ensemble (2001), inspired by the compositional technique of Josquin Desprez. In this case to direct the Entertainment Ensemble is Sandro Gorli, with Maria Eleonora Caminada (soprano) Daniele Valabrega (viola).
