Rome, 7 June 2021 – Marcello De Vito, president of the Rome city council, historical rival of Virginia Raggi, the most voted in the administrative elections of 2016 and fresh off the M5s, joins Come on Italy.
“I have no longer held up to the ideological somersaults of the 5 Stars”, says De Vito: “Joining Forza Italia is a natural choice for me. It is a political force that has deep roots and which represents my ideas, my political and legal vision, first of all as a voter ”. Still, explains De Vito, “I didn’t get to hear President Berlusconi. I believe that in the nineties he was a great innovator of the Italian political scene ”.
Rejoice Maurizio Gasparri, commissioner of Forza Italia in Rome: “Forza Italia is rebuilding its presence in the City Council and this demonstrates the vitality of our party which has collected memberships that it did not have”. A few days ago De Vito had announced his farewell to the M5s, in controversy with the management of the Casalgrillo (Casaleggio + Grillo): “After 9 long, intense, important years, I decide to leave it. The reason is that I no longer feel any sense of belonging. I can no longer tell people ‘We of the 5 Star Movement …’ ”.
