Make Italy beautiful in Scanno Cavallari, an unspoilt town in the Porto Viro area. Fai Cisl Padova Rovigo, with Fai Veneto, Terra Viva Veneto and the association Le Dune di Porto Viro also participated in the day that was baptized ‘Make Italy beautiful 2021 in Veneto’. And for this day he chose the renowned Scanno Cavallari, a fragile ecosystem that fits into the context of the Po Delta Park, nestled between the Adriatic Sea and the mouth of the Po di Levante. The territorial secretary Stefania Botton was present for the CISL Padova Rovigo. Volunteers carry bags and rakes have cleaned up the beach from waste, to safeguard that uncontaminated place that welcomes tourists who love nature and relaxation. Far from the super-popular destinations that in some cases risk turning the holiday into a nightmare. ‘Make Italy beautiful’, national Fai Cisl day for environmental care, has crossed the finish line of the third edition. The event was organized on the occasion of the World Environment Day which took place on Saturday and is aimed at raising awareness of citizens, institutions and businesses towards the protection of the territory. The campaign involves all the regional federations of the CISL agri-food and environmental union with 50 events for the safeguarding and enhancement of the landscape and environmental heritage. It takes 5 minutes of navigation from Porto Levante and here is Scanno Cavallari, an uncontaminated place created by an entrepreneur from the province of Padua together with the volcanic Celestino Azzalin. From nothing they have created an oasis for tourists, with a restaurant to taste the typical products of the Delta but without changing this corner of nature. Here, where the great river Po embraces the sea, in the park of the Po Delta you find Scanno Cavallari, the last strip of land in the lagoon. The island, just under 5 kilometers long and just 250 meters wide, can only be reached with the navigation service. Azzalin himself, who knows this land like the back of his hand, is often at the helm of the ferries. The service is active from May to September, it shuttles between Porto Levante and the islet. On 5 kilometers of beach, there are only 350 meters equipped with deck chairs and umbrellas, thanks to the initiative taken by the owners and managers of the Il Ghebo Refuge. In the restaurant it is possible to have lunch, refresh yourself with a few drinks and, above all, find a little relaxation in an absolutely natural setting.
