From Monday in Rome the curfew will be at midnight, an extra hour that makes restaurateurs cheer who have long been waiting to be able to increase the number of customers after months of closures and limitations due to Covid. The extra hour will bring an increase of 3.5 million in turnover per day for restaurateurs.
Over the next weekend, the hope is to exceed 50 million in turnover, with an increase of 15%. The calculations are made, speaking with Ansa, by the national vice president and head of Fipet Confcommercio Claudio Pica in Rome. “In restaurants it will be possible to foresee two shifts – he explains – then there will be after dinner, cocktails and in general more people around”.
The ice cream sector also performed well, which in the last week had registered an increase of 22 percent with a total income of over 3 million euros from 2 thousand ice cream parlors.
