Milan, June 6 (Adnkronos) – The Municipality of Milan aims to collect proposals from new ‘station based’ car sharing operators. The council has approved the guidelines of the new call to be published in the coming weeks and which, in line with the previous one, will allow for the collection of expressions of interest for the performance of the fixed-stall sharing service in Milan and the metropolitan city. The ‘station based’ system is based on the presence of stations where the rental is started and concluded thanks to the positioning of the cars in predefined stalls. The notice of the Municipality foresees to make available to the interested operators special stalls on public land, which will be assigned in an onerous concession following a public tender procedure.
The tender will also provide that the vehicles of the ‘station based’ fleets are plug-in or extended range electric, hybrid, fueled by methane (also bimodal), LPG (also bimodal), petrol, respecting the most performing pollution standard at time of entry into service. The vehicle fleet must have the characteristics required for circulation without derogations in Area B and Area C. The service must be ensured continuously for every day of the year, 24 hours a day with a minimum fleet of 100 vehicles, with 153 parking spaces per layout spread over 100 locations.
