Milan, June 5 (Adnkronos) – The Municipality of Milan participates in the national public announcement of the Equal Opportunities Department of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers as the proposing body for a project against trafficking in human beings. The proposal is entitled ‘Drifts and landings 2021: areas of freedom and rights for victims of trafficking and exploitation in the territorial areas of Como, Milan, Monza Brianza, Sondrio and Varese’ and articulates the areas of intervention which, together with partner bodies and service providers, the following will be addressed: emergence of the phenomenon, through mobile units and branches; first assistance, through residential reception in dedicated structures and social assistance; second reception, which includes training courses, social integration, internships and work placements; coordination, monitoring and legal assistance activities.
The project that will be presented, valid for 15 months starting next July, will have a total value of 2.3 million euros, in which the Municipality participates with approximately 415 thousand euros.
“The project – explains the municipal councilor for social and housing policies Gabriele Rabaiotti – renews and strengthens the will of the administration to intervene on this new form of slavery and violence. The signing of the Protocol says that it is necessary to proceed together, to systematize the information, to coordinate the various interventions with each other and in particular to support training courses that allow us to join forces starting from the languages, methodologies, different skills that the many public realities and of the private social sector, in their different role, are now able to put at service ”.
