The Inter midfielder will miss the European Championship due to a muscle injury, but it is not obvious that Pessina will be in his place
The story linked to the injury remedied in the national team by Stefano Sensi and the consequent replacement with Matteo Pessina is tinged with yellow: the Inter midfielder, in all likelihood, will not be able to participate in the European Championship, and for this reason he is the atalantino was detained in Coverciano.
The Uefa regulation, however, does not take for granted the alternation between the two within the squad of Italy that will participate in the continental event: the current law, in fact, established that there is the possibility of replacing an unlimited number of players within the 24 hours prior to the first match of the European Championship only in the case of positive Covid-19 or a serious injury, documented through medical reports. This means that the medical staff of the National team will have to deliver to the Uefa medical commission a documentation certifying the impossibility of Sensi to recover in time to be able to participate in the event, so as to be able to replace him with Pessina.
