Children and people with pets are not allowed to enter: this would be the policy, reports the Corriere della Sera, of the La Palapa restaurant in the Prati district in Rome. A choice that has indignant many and sparked controversy.
“There is a lot of demand, places with Covid are limited and then those who come here are looking for something unique, elegant, relaxing. Children and animals spoil the atmosphere. People come here for a business lunch, a special dinner” , the restaurant manager, Vittorio Esposito, defends himself.
“We were rejected – says a group of mothers. – The staff repeats to customers that ‘dogs and children are not allowed’ and some families have been chased away from tables outside on public land even after buying food inside “, they point out. However, Esposito leaves room for one possibility: with the constantly evolving anti-Covid measures “we could dedicate one of the two gazebos to families with pets”.
