The nation place was triggered for the withdrawal of an athlete in qualifying group B

Great news for the blue Dressage. The International Equestrian Federation in the late evening of today, Thursday 3 June, announced that Italy got a nation place (an athlete and a horse) for individual participation in dressage at the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The news came following the withdrawal of an athlete – in the context of qualifying group B for the Japanese Olympics and on the basis of the criteria for reassigning individual seats – a situation that triggered the “Olympic slot” for Italy in Tokyo.

The nation’s place in dressage was made possible thanks to the scores obtained during the qualifying season by Tatiana Miloserdova and Florento Fortuna, before the Azzurri in the Olympic ranking of group B.

The Federation has until June 9th to confirm the Olympic participation in dressage with an individual athlete.
