ROMA. «Pratiche tribal ”is the definition chosen by Yassine Lafram, president of UCOII, the Union of Italian Islamic Communities, to refer to arranged marriages. It is on these tribal practices that the Union in concert with the Islamic Association of Imams and Religious Guides has decided to launch a fatwa, a religious condemnation to distance itself from tragedies such as the one suspected to have happened to Saman Abbas, 18 years, who passed away a month ago from Novellara, a town in the province of Reggio Emilia.
