Not only Green Pass: what is the localization module for departures and arrivals in Italy

Non solo Green Pass, for all arrivals in Italy it is mandatory – from April – to fill in the Passenger Locator Form (PLF), that is the digital tracking module. The PLF is used for any entry to any vehicle in Italy. It is therefore valid for those arriving for the first time in our country (tourists, foreigners and travelers) but also for Italian residents who, after a trip abroad, intend to return home.

Digital localization module – Passenger Locator Form dPLF: what it is and how it works

The mandatory compilation of the digital Passenger Locator Form (PLF) – dPLF, was introduced with the Ordinance of April 16, 2021 for all persons arriving in Italy, using any means of transport.

Passengers, before their entry into the national territory, are therefore required to fill in this specification localization module in digital format.

The term Passenger Locator Form refers to the Passenger Locator Form (also known as Passenger Locator Card) with which information is collected on the travel itinerary, the telephone number and the address of stay in the national territory to allow the Health Authority to promptly contact the passenger, if exposed to a spreading infectious disease during the journey by plane.

Digital localization form: how to request the dPLF Passenger Locator Form

Anyone entering Italy from abroad for any duration, he / she is required to fill in the digital location form before entering the national territory by following the following instructions:

  • connect to the site https://app.euplf.eu/#/ and follow the guided procedure to access the dPLF;
  • choose “Italy” as the destination country and register on the site by creating a personal account with user and password (it is necessary to do it only the first time);
  • confirm the account through the link arrived at the indicated email address (it is necessary to do it only the first time) and follow the wizard to access the compilation and submission.

Once the form has been sent, the passenger will receive the dPLF in pdf format e QRcode which you will have to show directly from your smartphone (in digital format) at the time of boarding. Alternatively, the passenger can print a copy of the dPLF to show at boarding.

The dPLF will go compulsorily sent before boarding. In any case, the field relating to the seat number assigned on the flight will always be editable.

In this regard, please note that a form must be completed for each adult passenger. In case of presence of minors the latter can be registered in the accompanying adult form. If, on the other hand, they are unaccompanied minors, the dPLF must be completed by the guardian before departure.
